Hey, I’m Nate.
I live in a rolling toolbox.
I test gear the hard way and write about what actually works — and what breaks halfway through Arkansas. No fluff. No fakery. Just the truth, a little duct tape, and maybe a few bug bites. And yeah… it’s a pretty nice rolling toolbox, still.
Why Nomad Nate?
Well, I’ll tell ya. I’ve been doing this a long time — 30 years or so. Maybe 40 if you count my days sleeping on the ground in a tent. I’ve seen a few things. I’ve broken more. And I’ve wasted enough money on junk gear that I probably could’ve paid cash for the rig.So I started writing it all down.
The good, the bad, the “oh no, not again.”
Some of it’s useful. Some of it’s funny. And some might just keep your next road trip from ending in duct tape and cursing.People ask my advice — maybe because I’ve got cool gear, maybe because I look like I’ve survived some things. Either way, I figured: why not share what I know?
So what can you expect?
A few gear reviews each week — the must-haves and the “cool, but maybe not $199 cool.”
Stories from the road: destinations, disasters, and the little wins in between
A few solutions to common problems (because something will break — it’s just a matter of when)
If you’re new to RV life, here’s the deal:
You put a house on wheels, gave it a motor, and now you’re driving it down the highway at 70MPH.
Things. Will. Break. The good news? Most of it’s fixable.
A little electrical know-how, a basic tool kit (you DO have tools, right?), and some friendly advice go a long way.Got a problem? Shoot me a message. I’ll help if I can.
Bottom line:
This blog’s here to save you some trouble, some money, and maybe a few gray hairs.
I’ll be posting reviews, stories, and whatever else seems worth sharing — so keep an eye out, or better yet, [sign up for updates] (coming soon).OK, enough of my blathering. Get back to the fire and crack a beverage.
And if you see me and The Beast out there, stop and say hi.
Just the Good Stuff. Maybe a Few Curses.
What’s in Nate’s Toolbox?
Real-world reviews from the road. No sponsors. No fluff. Just gear that works—or doesn’t.

Connecten Internet Review: Good Enough for the Road? (And How It Stacks Up to Starlink)
TL;DR: If you’re an RVer looking for reliable internet without a satellite dish or $3,500 network tower, Connecten is worth a look. It’s easy, affordable, and it works—especially when you’re parked. Yeah, I know. You’re out here to get away from it all. Breathe in the pine-scented air, listen to the birds, roast marshmallows, and…
